My usual babblings

1. Seattle awaits snow. Let's hope I don't have to walk five miles in it to get home like I did last year. Meanwhile, our house is insulationally challenged, to the point where I'm finding 55 degrees "normal" for the kitchen. And actually I prefer it a great deal to "too hot." I sleep better when it's chilly. Having a bed-mate does help, of course.

2. Fangirling: "Lost" last night was awesome. I know Sawyer is basically a jerk, and I don't usually go in for blond guys, but I'm finding I'm totally crushing on him. The dimples, the hair, the drawl, the evil light in the eyes--aw yeah. Meanwhile, Dom's poignant role tweaked my heart (he should have been allowed to weep like that on the Pelennor Fields!), and Sayid and Shannon are a hot fanfic waiting to happen. (What am I saying? I'm sure it's already been written; I just haven't gone looking for it.)

3. Consumer Reports tested condoms in its most recent issue. The ones that fared the worst were the ones from Planned Parenthood. I laughed a lot more than I should have. They shall henceforth be called "Poorly Planned Parenthood."

Sayid really is quite tasty as well. Dark ringlets...accent...big brown eyes... *sigh* This show is full of eye candy!

I think Planned Parenthood has an interest in providing bad condoms. I mean, come on it's good for their business.

Girl: "But how can I be pregnant, we used a condom that I picked up here last time!??"

Planned Parenthood Counselor: "Well dear, condoms break...trust us, we know. So, can we interest you in an abortion today? We're running a special this month - four easy installments of $19.95..."

1. Wow, that'll have been exactly a year since that storm last year. I'd watch out ;)

2. Sawyer. Oy. He seems to be the only character not taking advantage of the second chance he's been given...everyone else has made an effort to become someone new.

3. They needed to save some of their money from the condoms for the totally innocent rulers. *eyeroll* After all, how can you know what size to buy if you don't measure first, and a good fit is essential*!

* Not based on any actual personal experience with fitting condoms. I'm saving myself for Kevin. *g*

1. I noticed that. Must be that time of year, I guess!

2. It's very weird, my Sawyer attraction. I normally am not at all interested in "the bad boy." In fact, objectively I can tell his character is mostly an asshat. I think it's a physically-based charisma, which we can then attribute to the actor rather than the character. :)

3. Hehehe...indeed, rulers are important. Have to encourage intimate self-knowledge among 14-year-olds, y'know. They probably were also saving money to print up more of those "Better Sex Your Sophomore Year" flyers...

Sigh.... Lost is the first show that makes me wish I had a TiVo. I work nights and miss it every single time!

I hope you don't get as much snow as last year! It's unseasonably warm right now so we've been getting a lot more snow than normal. You can borrow my shovel if you need one!

I made it a point to start watching "Lost" after hearing all the rave reviews. I seldom watch TV otherwise. It really is quite good, though! (And I don't have any way at all to tape missed TV, so I feel your pain.)

Hehe...I feel silly complaining about snow to an Alaskan. I'm sure whatever we get would be nothing compared to you guys' usual January days.

Well, normally we don't get a lot of snow in Fairbanks, just low temperatures. But for some reason we just got about 2 feet of snow in the last week! So maybe it's heading your way now?

Sorry for butting in here, but you can download the episodes from the internet using something called "bit torrent". (You can tell I am excessively technically oriented. 0_0 I know all about this sort of stuff. NOT.) A friend e-mailed me detailed instructions, which I'll be happy to forward to anybody who needs 'em.

Hey thanks! I wish I could, but I'm using my roomie's laptop and she's very anal about anything downloaded onto her computer that would take up space. Thanks for trying to help though!

I laughed when Consumer Reports said that if you get condoms from Planned Parenthood, you should get the "lollipop" ones.

Formerly known as Barkley71 here...
new screen name...anyway..I totally got misty eyed when Charlie cried last night. And I thought it was very touching that they prayed together. Surprised that a network let that through as well, being so PC and all. Anywhooo...totally with you on Sawyer, smarmy but hot!
