Information heaven

Holy cow. I will never be bored again. I just discovered RefDesk.com. Daily photos of many kinds, words and quotes of the day, online literature links, news links, game and brain-teaser links, reference materials of all imaginable varieties, and just-for-fun links such as the diary of Samuel Pepys, the Shakespearean Insultor, and the Oxymoron List.

It has already led me to add one RSS feed to my friends list: googlesights, a couple daily satellite photos of various places in the world, and a description of their significance.

Too cool.

You're welcome. As one who wants to be a librarian someday, I'm chagrined I didn't know about this site sooner.

Oh yeah, I've been regularly pimping refdesk.com on my LJ every six months or so. It's my go-to site for all research. It's awesome.

I've heard of it for a while, but somehow never got around to going there till today. As a writer I should have discovered it long ago! On the other hand, it offers terrible amounts of distraction from actual writing... :)

Yep, I'll be bookmarking refdesk too. Such fun!

Oh, wow, this is awesome! Where was this site when I spent eight months at the prison doing NOTHING?

The...prison? I'm sure it's more innocent than it sounds. :) Anyway, yes, enjoy!

My supervisor and I were transferred there to work on a project. Then my supervisor retired and wasn't replaced.

I spent eight months watching MacGyver reruns.

Ahh, I see. Heheh. Yes...that's a time when a good supply of DVD's would come in handy.
