Husband reads a piece of junk mail, then drops it on the floor dismissively.

Me: Is THAT where that goes.
S.: In the "What crap" pile.
Me: That's a laaaarge pile.
S.: Ninety-eight percent of everything is in that pile.

So true.

That sounds exactly like our kitchen counter. On occasion my sister's mail will actually start to crawl across the kitchen on it's own and try to creep into the foyer.

I hope you don't mind that I friended you. [I'm also actually using a line from your parody in my email signature. It sounds so 7th grade to have a signature yeah? But I love the line and since I can't just go around quoting it at people, that's the only way I know to pass it along.]

I don't mind at all - in fact, it's quite flattering to know that I inspired an email signature. :) Now I merely have to know which line you chose, because I'm insanely curious.

I'm never one to let another curious person suffer needlessly, so...

EOMER: Hi! Okay, stop me if you've heard this one. An elf, a man, and a dwarf walk into the Riddermark...

For some reason that line cracks me up everytime. Especially since i can hear karl urban saying it in his manly Eomer voice. You are credited of course.

Ooh, I think that was actually the line that triggered the idea of an entire parody, and I must credit it to my husband. We were watching the preview on TV, before the movie came out, and (for the hundredth time) heard Eomer say, "What business does an elf, a man, and a dwarf have in the Riddermark?"

At which my husband said, "Sounds like the beginning of a joke. 'An elf, a man, and a dwarf walk into the Riddermark..'" And I started giggling like an idiot, and eventually wrote it down, and so it went. :)

This has totally ruined the trailer for me. Everytime I see it on television I go off in fits of giggles. But I don't blame only you, so it's okay. Actually I take that back. Everytime I watch TTT I crack up at the most inopportune times now. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing when I'm in the privacy of my own home, but the last time I saw it at the cinema, people were looking at me funny. So it is all your fault. Good show!!

Hahah... Oh, lots of stuff has ruined it for me. Notably, the Secret Diaries and the "pants" game. I almost snickered out loud when Theoden said "Where is the horse and the rider?" last time I saw TTT in the theater, because I was thinking of the Secret Diaries entry: "No, seriously, where are they? That was my favorite horse."

And as for substituting "pants" for some words in the script...oh lordy...

"Gondor has no pants. Gondor needs no pants."
"You draw far too much attention to yourself, Mr. Underpants."
"This is Aragorn, son of Arathorn. You owe him your pants."

"Give me your pants, horsemaster, and I will give you mine."
"He'll pants us in our sleep!"
"300 lives of men have I walked this earth, and now, I have no pants."

Hee. :D

omg. i just choked myself laughing over those "pants" lines!!! they're hilarious.

i also have a TTT Parody inspired email signature, i DO hope you dont' mind, if you do, i'll remove it immediately...
(by the way, it's the "how about i squeeze your shoulder..." one)

Fine with me...whoever you are. :)

I know; I'm apparently a five-year-old sometimes. I giggle way too much at the "pants" thing.

The pants one doesn't really get me yet. The two things that always stick in my head are your parody and the stuff they say on the commentary. [Which obviously I've spent entirely too much time invested in.] Like Orlando's lembas commercial. Oh boy. Who knew we could make a movie so much fun?

Invest in a paper shredder. It's far more satisfying than just cluttering the floor.
